Summary:  Ocunox Vitamin A Eye Ointment is a preservative-free nighttime lubricant designed to relieve severe dry eye and overnight ocular surface irritation. The ointment contains retinol palmitate (vitamin A), which supports corneal surface health and may help promote healing of damaged epithelial cells. Its thick ointment base forms a protective barrier that stabilizes the tear film and reduces tear evaporation while sleeping. Ocunox is commonly used by people with severe dry eye, lagophthalmos, or dryness associated with CPAP use during sleep. Because the ointment temporarily blurs vision, it is intended for bedtime use only to provide overnight hydration and protection of the ocular surface.

Description:

I have terrible dry eyes - particularly at night when I'm sleeping. If I don't use this ointment my eyelids literally stick to my eyeball causing horrible pain and damage when I open my eyes. This is the only eye ointment that gives my eyes some moisture (must be the Vitamin E) during the night and it prevents the lid from sticking to my eye.

I have chronic corneal erosion and need to use an ointment at least twice a night. Since I switched to Ocunox, I have only had to use it once as it is a much thicker and long lasting ointment than Systane.
