Our Patients buy TheaHyabak as it exceeds expectations for both dry eyes & contact lens irritation
Summary: TheaHyabak Lubricating Eye Drops are preservative-free artificial tears designed to relieve dry eye symptoms and contact lens discomfort. The formula contains 0.15% sodium hyaluronate, a naturally derived lubricant that helps stabilize the tear film and maintain hydration of the ocular surface. The hypotonic solution helps improve tear film balance and may reduce irritation associated with dry eye disease. TheaHyabak is preservative-free and phosphate-free, making it suitable for frequent daily use and safe to use while wearing contact lenses. The drops are delivered through the ABAК multidose bottle system, which keeps the solution sterile for up to six months after opening. ("TheaHyabak" drops were previously sold as "Hyabak" in Canada)
Description:
As of June 2025 "Hyabak" has been renamed "TheaHyabak" with a slight formulation change. If you have used Hyabak in the past, you should expect no difference in performance of this very well-tolerated and popular lubrication eye drop.

Best Synthetic Eye Drop?
The best Artificial Tear / Synthetic Tear for dry eye for you is a tough question to answer without background information. It is irresponsible for brands to make a claim to this title because drops are so different in their functions... or sometimes the best dry eye treatment is not a drop at all. See our BLOG for lots more information
As a point of more of interest vs. science... Analyzing recommendations post work-ups... our primary care Optometry practice recommends TheaHyabak/Hyabak more that any other drop.
Buy for longer no preservatives but longer shelf life
The special, filtered Thea bottle allows for the drop to be non-preserved. This means that it is very gentle to the ocular surface and can be used many times a day if required. The Thea bottle also has a long shelf life of 180 days once opened. This is 6 times longer than a standard bottles' shelf life. Find more information on this here.
Each Thea bottle has ~300 drops. In-clinic, I typically recommend 2x/day so that is over ~4 months of relief.
